Food: The theme if this restaurant seems to be vegan junk food and it very much delivers on that front. The entrees of all our dishes were tasty and creative like before. This time around there are even more options then before when it comes to the menu variety. This is something we greatly enjoyed. There were some entrees that members felt were seasoned a little too much though. That goes with the them of vegan junk though. For details on this, please refer to the video review.

Customer Service: Overall the customer service was ok. We agreed it could have been better but they were deal with a unique situation the day we visited. There was a heat advisor going and the temperature was 104 for the day. This had a chain effect. People in general did not use the houses outdoor patio for seating at all (And understandable so!). This in turn, cause everyone to be inside the house which had limiting effect on the customer service. This is why we say it was ok but could have been better. Seeing how that situation is out of the norm though, it had to be mentioned

Atmosphere: When you think Vegan Food House, you may not think it is in an actually house! It is very homey and cosy inside. There music playing at a modest level in the background. Enough to set the mood but not loud enough to disrupt conversations. We’ve don’t really encounter this homey time of vibe in a restaurant so it made for a nice change of pace. We found it to our liking.

Pricing: We found that the pricing felt appropriate for what we got. Im particular though. We found the portions given to be huge despite factors such as inflation and export/import issues caused by the pandemic in the food industry. When measuring it against other vegan restaurants, it’s not cheaper but it’s not more expensive either.  They definitely have superior portions though which is very commendable

Overall we enjoyed ourselves at The Vegan Food House! For more details, checkout the video review below.

In this post, we have a review of the vegan restaurant, Tiki Loco! Reading, not your style? Watch the video review below!

Food: To our surprise, the food here was pretty average. No bad but not mind blowing. With that being said, there is a decent variety of entrees that we took note of. Some of the food on the menu doesn’t accurately line up with what is served (See video review for details). Our recommendation would be to inquire about a particular item with the staff to ensure it will suit your tastes.

Atmosphere: Visually the atmosphere is very eccentric. From an interior design perspective, the signs, colors and furniture placement is better then other restaurants we have been to. The only downside to this is that their current seating placement can have trouble accommodating a large group. We didn’t have any trouble with this since a group of tables happen to be available. It’s not something that breaks the experience but it’s worth mentioning. One thing that is an issue and needs to be mentioned is that the restaurant was very hot. We assumed maybe the AC was down, but this wasn’t directly communicated to us so as it stands, this is a big problem that hopefully will be fixed in the very near future.

Customer Service: The staff was very nice to us. The style of the restaurant is for you to go up to the counter to place the order. Then your food is brought to you. Some of us prefer the traditional server taking your order so that’s a bummer. Some restaurants are going in this direction though

Price: For a vegan restaurant, the prices are about average while the portions are somewhat small for the price. It’s nothing out of this world in terms of bad but this in area that they could improve on when compared to other vegan resturants. Bigger portions or a slight lower price would put them on par with other restaurants

Overall: Tiki Loco is worth a try for the visual atmosphere and it’s variety of options on their menu. While some things hold it back from being exceptional, it’s still a place worth visiting

Itso Vegan Veggie Outers Review (Updated)

Food: Just like the 1st time, we were impressed by the variety of food that was offered on the menu. It’s important to note that Itso vegan in particular has a good mix of ingredients that are used in their meals. Since some people like to keep certain things out of their diet (like soy for example), we can honestly say that there was something there for everyone!

Atmosphere: Visually the atmosphere is classic in a good way. The seats match the colors from an interior designer point of view and the windows let the right amount of light in that makes the decor visually appealing. From a audio perspective, we agreed that the music as a bit too loud. While the music itself was a good selection, it steadily start increasing over the duration of the meetup in loudness. It reach a point where it was a little difficult to hear conversations at the table. If the music had remained at the level that it was when the meetup started, that would have been just right. Hopefully this is an aspect that will change in the future.

Customer Service: In terms of the staff being nice to us, they had all of the boxes checked. They are currently using a self order model where you’ll need to go up to the counter and place your order and get your drinks. Some of us did not care for this model. Some of us didn’t mind it. Since it was a divisive topic, it’s worth noting that this will be the case here.

Price: For a vegan restaurant, the prices are about average. Maybe slightly higher in some instances but you get big portions of food which highly made up for any issues we had with the price. Half of us were taking home to go boxes. I’ll let that statement speak for itself!

Overall: This is a must try if you find yourself in Grand Prairie. Whether you’re vegan or not. The menu has changed from the last time we were here. Now there are more items on the menu. This combined with everything else mentioned in this review makes it definitely worth swinging by to grab a bite to eat.

Memorable vegan fast food

Food: All of us enjoyed the food variety much! In particular, we were not just impressed by the taste of the food but also by the menu variety. There are plenty of things to try here that are both tasty the big menu means you’ll be busy for a while if you want to eventually try everything on the menu

Atmosphere: Project Pollo offers both indoor and outdoor setting. This is welcome since people can choose between the two. Combine that with a decent music selection playing in the background and you can’t go wrong. The only notable bad thing is that they are right off a main street. If you sit outside, the cars zooming by could be a little loud at peak traffic times of the day. It wasn’t loud enough to be a big deal though.

Customer Service: Every 5 to 10 minutes, a member of their team was checking on us which was great. Plus, they were just all very nice and energetic in general. We had very little problems with the staff. Parking could be a challenge here though since a lot of us had trouble finding a space. Obviously we all did eventually but it’s worth noting. For more details on that, please refer to the video review below

Price: For a fast food vegan place, prices are actually in line with what most would expect. In some cases, actually a little less. We had no complaints when it comes to this category regarding the entrees. We did fill that their shakes were a bit over priced though.

Overall: This is a must try if you find yourself in Dallas. They have good food, service and decent prices. Not only does that make them worth checking out. It also makes them a good candidate for repeat visits!

Belse Veggie Outers Review (Closed)

A mixed bag for a variety of reasons

For details of how the rating is calculated as well as what we rated each category, please refer to the video review. In this post, we have a review of the vegan restaurant, Belse! Reading, not your style? Watch the video review below!

Food: The food was pretter tasty overall. We agreed that they have a unique approach to crafting traditional dishes like burgers and soup in a unique way. Our only criticism is that the portions could be bigger based on the prices (More on this in the price section)

Atmosphere: With Belse being in Uptown, that already to some degree boosts the atmosphere. Couple that with the lighting and style of the restaurant itself and you can’t go wrong! The music was just at the right level where it sets a relaxing mood while at the same time, we could hear each other talk. Truth be told, more restaurants could learn from following Belse’s example in this area.

Customer Service: This is the most controversial category for us. The service by our waiter was great. We never had to ask for refills and he was very attentive to us. They were also generally friendly when it came to us setting a reservation. If the story ended there, they likely would have got a perfect score in this area. Sadly, it doesn’t. They combined all of our tabs into one bill without asking us. When asked if they could separate it, they mentioned that payment is handled online. This proceed was not intuitive at all and it took a total of 23 minutes for us all to pay our tabs. On top of this, one of our members got a cheesecake after paying his tab and went to the front to ask if he could pay for it there. They obliged but did so grudgingly. Truth be told, the option to pay at the front should always be there since it’s an industry standard. If they are going to keep the current system of payment, they need to go back to the drawing board.

Price: Even though food was great, when comparing the price to the portions received, Belse falls flat. It is in uptown but we feel that their prices either need to come down or portions need to go up. It was expensive even by vegan restaurant standards.

Overall: Belse offered great food at high prices in a amazing atmosphere with great to mediocre customer service. Sounds like a mixed bag, right!? That why we said it’s a mixed bag for a variety of reasons! Even stills, it’s definitely worth a try.
